12 oz Glass Skep Jars

The 12 oz Glass Skep Jar is a honey container with a shape that does the storytelling for you. The skep — the domed, coiled-straw beehive — is one of the oldest symbols in beekeeping. Most customers recognize the silhouette immediately, even if they couldn't name it. On a farmers market table or in a gift set, it communicates "real honey from real beekeepers" without a single word of copy. That's worth something.

The jar holds approximately 12 oz (340 g) of honey by weight — about 1 cup. The skep shape is embossed into the clear glass. It fits 58mm metal lug lids, which are sold separately. That's the same lid size as the 12 oz Glass Bear Honey Jar — a lug thread, not a continuous thread, which is mechanically different from the 48mm and 63mm continuous thread lids used on our classic, queenline, and paragon jars. If you're also running those jars, you'll need a second lid SKU.

Lid Compatibility Note

This jar uses a 58mm lug thread finish — not a continuous thread. The 58mm Metal Lug Lid is the correct lid. Do not order 48mm, 63mm, or 70mm continuous thread lids for this jar — they will not engage the lug lugs and will not seal properly. If you're already running 48mm or 63mm lids for other glass jars, you will need to order 58mm lug lids separately for the Skep and Bear jars.
