✍️ The Design: The flag of Panama, a masterpiece of balance and political harmony. Designed by Manuel E. Amador and first hoisted in 1903, this flag was specifically crafted to represent a nation moving past its divisions toward a unified, peaceful future.

The design is a clever and meaningful arrangement of four quadrants. The white quadrants represent peace and purity, providing the foundation for the nation’s growth. The blue quadrant stands for the Conservative Party, while the red quadrant represents the Liberal Party—the two dominant political forces at the time of independence. By placing these colors in separate squares, the flag symbolizes the peaceful coexistence of different ideologies under one national identity. Inside the white fields, two stars shine: the blue star represents the civic virtues of purity and honesty, and the red star symbolizes the authority and law that govern the republic.
